I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.

Wisconsin spends about as much on homeless services as Madison does, and far less than Dane County. Despite multibillion dollar budget surpluses, the Legislature rejected again, without discussion, Gov. Evers’ request for $24 million to increase funding for homeless services at the state level.

Madison’s progress makes us a target for the Trump administration. They’ve already defunded Madison’s work on clean energy, energy efficiency, and traffic safety, and are trying to claw back much more federal funding from our community.
