I’m determined to step away from social media for a while. There is no positive news coming out of the U.S. Bullying, rudeness, and bad-mouthing seem to be increasingly common, which is heartbreaking to witness. It feels as though our democracy is deeply broken. Take care.

Why the double standard?
When a Deaf event happens, why is it that non-signers automatically get free interpreting service — but Deaf people have to request interpreters every single time we need access?

I’m SO sick of those who posted about how inequity and injustice happen here in USA; yet, there’s no plans. We are doomed for more 4 years! The first 100 days were not positive for Americans but there’s no plans yet! I give up and Trump gets what he wants — nothing more. He’s winning ahead of us! 🖕🏽

Reframing the Koko Myth. Koko the gorilla knew some signs—but she wasn’t fluent in ASL. The real issue? Society assumed that if a gorilla could “learn” ASL, the language must be simple.That assumption isn’t just wrong—it’s dismissive of a rich, complex human language&the Deaf community that uses it.
