I’ve just moved to Australia and I’m surprised to learn they don’t compost their food waste. I can’t seem to find an explanation why. Anyone care to share with me why? Please?

In the meantime I’ve been donating my compostable items to a local community garden.

I’m feeling helpless (aren’t we all?) so I donated to the my local food bank back in Canada bc those tariffs will create food insecurity. I also donated to orgs to support LGBTQiA+ communities bc they need our ❤️. +

I am a Canadian living in Australia - just moved here a week ago. I am at peak “Canadian” whenever I am abroad.

Aussies mistaken me for American but I humbly (& apologetically - sorry!) explain I’m from 🇨🇦. Sometimes I throw in an occasional “eh” at the end of a sentence to give them a kick 😊
