The Places in Between by @rory-stewart.bsky.social is a travel memoir of his dangerous walk through Afghanistan just after the fall of the Taliban. This is after he walked through huge parts of Asia alone. Gives fascinating insights including through drawings of the country back then. #booksky

Beautiful world, where are you by Sally Rooney is one of her more typical stories featuring relationships and the anxieties of life. It really makes you think about love and friendship. I liked it more than Normal People but less than Intermezzo. She is such a talent. #booksky #bookclub

We need to talk about Kevin by Lionel Shriver is a really powerful read regardless of being a parent or not.

Told in a very gripping way, even if some parts seem a little less realistic. I really enjoyed it.

It really was special to have Executive Vice-President @hennavirkkunen.bsky.social address #ENISA staff and take time for questions.

Special thanks also to Despina Spanou for always flying the flag.

If we weren’t excited enough about #CSA2, we’re buzzing now 🤩

A fascinating story because it is true. His guilt for what he was forced to do, kept the story coming out until so many years after the Holocaust.

Details very horrific events which the author presents in a skilled decent manner. #booksky

I loved Klara and the Sun, so Never Let me Go did not disappoint. You don’t need to love science fiction to appreciate this very well written dystopian novel.
It’s 20 yrs old, back when Dolly the sheep was going to lead to human clones, didn’t happened but who knows with CRISPR tech.

Brilliant book by @praddenkeefe.bsky.social for anyone looking to understand the impact of the Troubles all the way to present day. What the McConville family endured was so horrific. How he illustrates the character of Gerry Adams is just excellent. Should I bother with the series?

I enjoyed listening to The Friday Afternoon Club by actor Griffin Dunne as he narrates the story himself. The family has gone through so much especially with the murder of his sister - a tough read. Having read Joan Didion’s books, her reaction to grieving family is shocking. #booksky #bookclub

Austerlitz by Sebald is the kind of novel to read when you can concentrate and not last thing before bed. The complex sentences and phrasing is tiring (the original is in German) but worth persevering. The novel is a fascinating take on male trauma and coping with it. #booksky #bookclub

Happy that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie got back to writing, Dream Count is my favourite book of 2025 so far.
Wonderful stories that capture women’s experiences, pains and ambitions in her crafty and sleek style.
