Understand today. Shape tomorrow.
Claus Offe believed social science must do more than analyse society. It must help shape it.

On 27–28 March 2026, the Hertie School hosts a symposium in his honour, asking how his insights on democracy and justice can guide the future.

In the spirit of his “thoughtful wishing”.
