I just realized this: Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters book resembles Odysseus’ journey back home after the Trojan War. i.e. Both stories have the protagonist(s) encounter Hermes, who gives them smt to trick Circe, Circe and the whole pig thing, and Polyphemus. Later in the series w Calypso too
