Congratulations on being invited to an ERC Consolidator Grant interview. Advancing to the second step of the evaluation procedure is an achievement in itself. It proves you have an excellent proposal and impressive research profile. You are ready to consolidate your research and strengthen your team. Yet, there is still a hurdle to overcome: the interview. This trajectory guides you in twelve steps through all the preparational stages, from strategy to presentation and delivery. It consists of this e-learning course, one-on-one sessions with our dedicated coaches, slide design service, and mock interview support. That is how we help you to the highest level of preparation. Are you interested in this coaching trajectory? Schedule your call with Hermen Visser via info@visservisible.com and find out how we can make the difference. Main image: Artesonraju, Wikimedia Commons

New year, new platform! 🥳
In addition to our one-on-one trajectories, we created this e-learning environment. It allows researchers to prepare for their grant interview in-between sessions. As the year progresses we will continue adding courses and improving the platform. deltagrantsupport.com
Already during her PhD in linguistics, Joske Piepers started to work as a slide designer. She will help you to make slides that work.

The past weeks I was reading Blood Meridian. As with many great books I found out @verybadwizards.bsky.social had an episode (actually 3 episodes) about it. Although I still have some pages left, I couldn’t help but listen…😬

Enjoyed this conversation of @yoelinbar.net and @minzlicht.bsky.social on Bluesky as a political bubble. One glance at #FIFA confirms their stance. Only variations of the same opinion about Saudi Arabia as the World Cup host.

“My neck in the guillotine,” described one of the successful ERC CoG candidates we worked with this year the interview. This type of communication is quite intense: much at stake, highly competitive, online, brief. It makes thorough preparation key.

Adapting a presentation to an audience with some distance to your field not only fosters connection, it also makes you reflect on the bigger picture yourself. It is what the participants of my morning session experienced. A presentation is both a communication means and a thinking tool.

Teaching my last Online Presenting Skills course of 24 at @unileiden.bsky.social. One of the key skills: connecting via a medium that is in many instances just very boring television, (talking heads with slides 🥱) and the opposite of connection.
