Well, Ted, I’m very cynical as you know
@deutschebahn.com I have taken three trains in the German railway system yesterday and today. Yesterdays were both 45+ minutes late, today’s is heading remorselessly towards that same target.

Ruining people’s days / weekends / holdays is an art form for you, isn’t it?

The worst. Just the worst.

To my mind, you just can’t get better than live sport.

It really is that simple.

I do enjoy me an athletics competition like the Europeans or Worlds or Olympics.

More the action itself, rather than the in-studio guff.

New idea for future transfer windows:

All business done in secret.

No information is released until the team news is published for the first round of games after the window shuts.

Players continue to play, as if nothing had happened, and then it’s all change between window closing and next game

Imagine if fans adopted the same philosophy on loyalty as players do.

“Don’t care about the Wolves any more, I’m going to watch Liverpool until a better team comes along.”

Different game these days from years ago. Sure, there were different problems then.

But money is ruining this.

Friends arriving imminently. Preparations complete (I hope!). Provisions ready, booze in place.

Aaaaaand breathe in, and breathe out

We’re ready. At least I hope we are!

On a train in Germany. The horror. The absolute horror…. Put em away please. Nobody needs that going on #FFS

RIP Ozzy.

They don’t make them like him any more.

What a guy.

When IKEA say your delivery will be with you at 7am, they’re not kidding. It’s 7:31 and they’ve just left. Couldn’t have been simpler. 10 out of 10.

Jaysis H feckin Christ I’m a lousy tourist……

In younger days there were pubs to get drunk in, women to talk to, bad decisions to be made, every new place you went. One big adventure!

These days the only thing that crosses my simple, ape-like mind is: “Where can I get some dinner and go to sleep?!”

I wonder which one will happen first: a paper clip wins Wimbledon, or Clare Balding stops vastly overhyping literally everything as a BBC presenter.

My money’s on Mr or Mrs P Clip

I’m a lapsed Pacers fan. Started with them in 2007, the lapse occurred in 2013 or so when baseball started to take over my life.
I probs don’t have the right to do so, but I’m REALLY looking forward to the biggest 48 mins of basketball in Pacers history, ie Game 7.
History awaits. Let’s do this!!

The Breakfast Club.

The Blues Brothers.

Two great movies.

I’ve had an extended good run of luck travelling by train across Europe recently. Unlikely connections worked out, almost no delays - all good.
This trip has been similar - until now. There’s been “an accident between a train and a person” on the line to Köln and this train will be WAY late.

I was having the best morning ever. Arrived at my destination, left bags in hotel, got a great breakfast, all good. Finished eating, and then there it was. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out by The Smiths on the cafe radio station. The Worlds Most Depressing Song. Bleurgh…. I can’t stand that song

Sarajevo is a lovely and wonderful place that is easy to fall in love with.
I only wish it didn’t take me an entire day on trains, an overnight ferry and a day on a bus to get there.

(Yes yes, I know I could go by plane. But that’s just not going to happen, is it?!)

Does anybody care about Cristiano Ronaldo any more?

He’s been old news for seasons now.

Snooze-aroni.

I wouldn’t care if there were no Mets game in progress - I would pay to watch / listen to GKR & Gelbs commentate on literally anything. We are so lucky. Interviewing Mike Piazza v Shirt Confrontation - the struggle is VERY real

Ok, I’ll say it:

Much as the events of 5 May 2002 hurt everyone of an Inter Milan persuasion, if La Beneamata win tonight and Napoli don’t, I will officially release the ghost of 5/5/2002 and move on - as much as a bitter, twisted and highly deluded football fan can ever move on from anything
May 23, 2025 at 4:19 PM
This evening’s Serie A fixtures to decide the title between Napoli and Inter Milan will be nervy viewing. I’m an Inter fan and this has a 5 maggio 2002 feeling about it - except without the Juventus Calciopoli corruption lurking in the background, and the fact that Inter began 5 maggio as capolista

I’m a lapsed Pacers fan. I was a very intense Pacers fan from 2007 until about 2014. But I found basketball in NYC and watched a lot of Knicks games there so I can’t say there’s not a degree of affection for them in my system. Both teams have waited long enough.
