We walk a lot and I write a bit. And we have lived almost normally with myeloma for 16 years, thanks to our wonderful NHS.
So the media pundits are in a lather about the details of the budget being leaked 30 minutes early. Careless and shambolic, but how will that actually affect the nation's most vulnerable people?

When our daughter Sally went to work as a volunteer for a national support charity she made such an impression on a colleague, Andrew, he still keeps in touch with her aging parents seven years after her sad death. That's the impression she made on so many people.

While Birmingham Council is considering closing and reducing hours for a number of its libraries, the London Borough of Sutton plans to open ALL its libraries for longer hours (8am-9pm, Mon-Sat, 9am-6pm Sun). It can be done!

Makes me sad re-reading this amazing letter from ex-Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox sent to high school seniors in 1994 after they asked him “What should Americans learn from Watergate?” 20 years later in ‘94.

His answer is remarkable—unfortunately things didn’t work out so well in 2024.
