He was a lovely gentle mischievous soul, one of the many characters who make the Highlands & Islands sing with their individuality and presence. He passed away in F.W. some years ago, and is greatly missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. A true gentleman of the road. 3/3

My dad knew Jimmy really well, and I'd got to know him too, so if I spotted Jimmy on the road I'd stop for a blether. Or if I only saw the bike & no Jimmy I'd check the hedges to make sure he was ok. Iain Thornber wrote a warm & insightful piece on him in the Oban Times, this is an excerpt: 2/3
