In writing these two articles for my summer internship, I learned that research is the backbone of advocacy-based journalism. Research can inform and empower advocacy-based storytelling, and we can utilize research to persuade, engage, and impact others in articles/campaigns.

In this semester of Matchbook Marketing, I am a graphic designer for a beloved vintage store in downtown COMO—Maude Vintage. I have been learning how to use Adobe Illustrator/Canva and follow the unique vintage-inspired look outlined in our client’s brand standards. Here are two posts I designed!

My summer internship challenged me to create 10 Instagram reels, based on corporate marketing and the mission of a health-equity-based organization. I learned that creating reels is more about the strategic message they deliver to audiences, and not solely the visuals.

On campus at Mizzou, I am a Journalism Ambassador (a J-School tour guide!) and I participate in Matchbook Marketing. I serve on the Mizzou Women In Media executive board. I also recently joined the Deaton Scholars Program through the Honors College and served as a videographer for B&B Theaters.
