A reminder of why we work on museums - trying out a portable XRF unit to check for hazards in the collection. Many thanks to Mike for sharing his encyclopedic knowledge and helping us discover that this aged macaque monkey had been treated with arsenic. No wonder it hasnt been attacked by pests.
