June is for Blooms! Osteospermum, with its striking colors, is becoming one of my favorites. Snapdragons are a must every year, while the delicate violet-blue Marguerites are new to the garden this year.

Fledgling Grackle was born in one of our pines in the backyard. Noticed it using some hostas as cover this morning, getting braver and trying to flap/hop while mom and dad yelled encouragement. Cute to watch while I was cutting back blackberries this morning 🌄

Lilac season is in full swing. These are a fancy type with delicate white edging, planted a few years ago. We chose a poor spot, and now a green giant arborvitae is taking over the space. We'll try to relocate the lilac to a sunnier open space before the end of the year. #gardentok #midwestlife
