I'd bet every one of us who ultimately left the church has had this moment. Mine was in college when my church told me I couldn't date someone who didn't come to church with me. I literally asked, "why even *have* a church?"

Taking food from kids is unfathomable cruelty.
I was reading an article about the cancellation of food aid to Minnesota, and it reminded me of a story about my dad. He was a vet, an organizer and very deeply involved in his church. And one day he stood up and asked a question: “what the f*ck’s the point of having a church?”
