Extra! Extra! Read all about it! This abolitionist serial (from The Christian Reformer) was recently discovered in the stacks during an inventory and barcoding project and published by a Boston area author named Charles Stearns.
The first page of a serial from The Christian Reformer published in Boston, September, 1849. Below the title it states that the Christian Reformer is published once a month at Fifty Cents a Year, in advance. The Christian Reformer serial is laid open on a table. A collection of 5 serials from The Christian Reformer splayed out on a table. A pamphlet with the title, "The Christian Reformer and Workingmen's Advocate: Devoted to The Intellectual Moral and Physical Improvement of Man, and to the Promulgation of the Religion of Reason and Harmony." The pamphlet is dated February, 1850.

As Women’s History Month wraps up, we honor Katie Cannon, former WSRP fellow at HDS and pioneering American theologian. Author of "Katie’s Canon", she explored the intersections of race, gender, and Black liberation ethics. Included is a photo of Cannon with Preston Williams during her time at HDS.

The illustrations for this 1700 collection of writings by Christian mystic, Jacob Böhme, do not disappoint. In addition to the striking, full page eye, we have an otherworldly garden with flowers, a heart nailed to a cross, and a swarm of bees. A #MysticMonday.

There might be no better way to kick things off than with a copy of the theologically controversial (for its time) Divinity School Address by Ralph Waldo Emerson! This copy was initialed by R.W.E himself.
