The death penalty grew out of this country’s brutal practice of lynching.

When lynching became politically and socially unpalatable, the death penalty became the state sanctioned alternative.

No one should be killed by the state. The time to end the racist, unjust, and cruel death penalty is NOW.

I wonder which is more common between teleiophiles and peer-attracted-people.

EXACTLY.

It's like the japanese guy has a near spotless room he cleans every day, and the american guy has a dirty room and only cleans it when it gets unbearably bad.

But American guy who's never seen his room goes "why's he always cleaning? Must be really dirty if he cleans it that much..."
This is just it, I think. When you live in a country that ignores some of the biggest threats to our safety (guns, SA, police brutality, etc.), seeing a country actively implement policies that reduce harm makes people think, "Wow. It must be even worse over there if they're doing stuff to fix it."

I saw a video where someone said that Risa Matoba is a "daddy's girl" and "has a great relationship with her father." Now, these aren't *wrong* per se, but that's REALLY downplaying her feelings for him. Risa's biggest gripe is that Japanese law won't let her (12 years old) marry her father.

Based.

An additional note in regards to the last repost (they disabled quoted reposts, so I'm doing this instead): You do not have to be a victim of a traumatic experience to enjoy writing or reading about it. You should be allowed to enjoy whatever fiction you wish without having to explain yourself.

"I am here to counter the allegations that Taiga from Toradora is a loli!"

Facts aren't allegations, ma'am. You like a romcom with a loli protagonist. Just embrace it.
