It’s official: we’re running in Missouri’s 4th Congressional District.

This is what the fight demands of us. Bought-off politicians thought we’d take their gerrymander lying down — but they were wrong. Working people are fighting back.

It’s people versus money. And together, we will win.
Every day, ICE commits human rights violations. No amount of “reform” can fix an agency built on fear, family separation, and racial profiling. We must abolish ICE. Completely.

36 days without pay for federal workers. While millions go hungry, this administration parties with the rich. They’re gambling with livelihoods, safety, and health care. This isn’t governing, it’s all to protect Epstein predators and line their pockets.

Prop 50 passed, and that’s a victory for democracy. Voters rejected the authoritarian playbook we’re seeing across the country, rig the midterms in advance by drawing maps that silence communities.

Congratulations to Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the movement of New Yorkers who just made history by electing the first Muslim Socialist to lead the city.
This victory is proof that people power can and does beat big money.

Today is Election Day! From Zohran Mamdani in NYC, to Omar Fateh in Minneapolis, to Prop 50 in California, there’s a wave of movements that are fighting for real change. This just the start — we’re taking this energy all the way to the midterms. Let’s win this.

Trump just vowed to ignore a federal court order and hold SNAP hostage. That’s not governing, it’s lawless cruelty. 42 million Americans rely on SNAP. Obey the court. Release the funds now. Stop weaponizing hunger.

Hot dogs for a day ≠ policy for a lifetime.

Congressman Mark Alford’s photo-op won’t fix the harm of voting to gut health care and slash food aid.

We’ll keep feeding families and keep fighting for universal health care, fully funded SNAP/WIC, and wages you can live on.

Half a month of food for 42M Americans, but only after a court order. The Trump admin had the money and chose to withhold it. Hunger is a policy choice. The money was always there. Fully fund SNAP now.

Día de los Muertos celebration, a moving tribute to tradition, memory, & the beauty of Latin American culture @ the Nelson-Atkins

Art, music, & shared moments of remembrance reminds me that honoring our ancestors is also about protecting the future we build for the next generation.

We are extremely proud of KC Eats and partner organizations for making this food drive happen. No one in our community should go hungry while billionaires get handouts and workers get pink slips.

Good news, a federal judge just ordered the Trump administration to release billions in SNAP contingency funds, funds they’ve had all along.
Let’s be clear: this wasn’t about scarcity. It was about cruelty.
We need leaders who will feed families, not starve them to score political points.

42 million Americans rely on SNAP to eat.

Here’s who they really are
- 80% have jobs
- Nearly half have kids
- 1.2 million are veterans

They’re not “lazy.” They’re working, in a system that doesn’t pay enough to live.

Over 40 million Americans are about to lose their SNAP benefits. Families held hostage.

We deserve and demand a government that feeds the hungry, heals the sick, and houses the unhoused and cares for our climate.

Missouri’s 4th District deserves better than a rubber stamp for Trump’s cruelty.

Thousands of our neighbors here in Kansas City are feeling the impacts of this Trump government shutdown, and soon more than 600K Missourians could lose their SNAP and WIC benefits.

It’s shameful that the richest country, children still go to bed hungry & parents struggle to put food on the table.

Tax the Rich is the framework to rebuild America.

While Missouri hands millionaires one of the largest tax cuts in the country, the richest 1% now control $52 trillion. That’s more wealth than the bottom 90% combined.

From KC to rural missouri , workers are fighting billionaires and corporate greed. We are demanding fair pay, safe conditions, and a voice on the job.
I’m running to stand shoulder to shoulder with labor: to pass the PRO Act, ban exploitative non-competes, and guarantee good jobs for all.

Hurricane Melissa isn’t a “natural” disaster. This is the result of decades of corporate pollution, political cowardice, and climate denial.

While oil executives cash record profits, families in Jamaica are losing everything.
This is what the climate emergency looks like.

Private equity embodies unfettered corporate greed—swallowing whole industries, stripping them for parts, hiking prices, and delivering the bare minimum while extracting the maximum profit. It’s parasitic.

No Chiefs game today so let’s spend our Sunday together belligerently singing Creed at Offkey Karaoke Lounge in Westport! 5-7:30p!

“It’s wonderful to see someone running who I actually feel joy when they speak… they’re authentic, their personality shines through — and that’s deeply missing from our politics.”
— Lily Greenberg, Activist & Organizer.
We deserve leaders who bring joy. Who lead with honesty, vision, and heart.

“Fascism is on the rise, democracy is in decline, the climate is on the brink. Your involvement makes a difference.” — Michael Greenberg, Executive Director, Climate Defiance.

“We beat a $2.2 trillion company with no political backing and $2.50 in our GoFundMe. The formula? People power.” – Chris Smalls. Chris Smalls backs Hartzell because we need leaders who fight for us, not billionaires and corporations. This campaign is about people power vs money.

“We demand leaders who stand up to big business, big oil, and foreign interests—and who fight for an economy that works for everyday Americans.” – Sunjay Muralitharan
Young Americans are done waiting. We’re fighting for leaders we can trust, who say no to corporate greed and fight for us.

“We’re saying not the worst evil is our best that we can offer. We are turning young people off… We’re proud to have Hartzell as a member of our chapter. Our movement is definitely stronger with him.” — Drew Sorenson, KC DSA
