Now we’re in the era in which giant drops in the Dow Jones industrial average is a good thing.

We're going to tariff foreign countries because they keep selling us drugs for which we have an absolutely insatiable appetite b/c they shouldn't be selling us this stuff, just like it's the gun dealer's fault when he sells an AR-15 to an angsty 18 year old.

Anybody remember the Hawley-Smoot tariff? The tax rate on taxable items was 59%, but only on a limited number of items. The overall tariff rate on all goods was 19.8%.

It was signed by Hoover and initially increased production. Success! But w/in 2 years, led to the Great Depression.
