Page 1 1.1. Inside the 41st Precinct, officers gossip, eavesdrop, or work quietly as Jean shouts off-screen. "DO YOU WANT TO BE A FUCKING CRIPPLE, HARRY? WANT YOUR LEG TO FALL THE FUCK OFF? YOU ALREADY NEED A GODDAMN CANE TO LIMP AROUND!" 1.2. BAM!! Jean slams his hand on the desk. 1.3. Kim diplomatically grabs an annoyed Jean by the shoulder. "Officer Vicquemare, I agree with your concern but..." 1.4. "The detective should be allowed to close this case." Harry stands sheepishly behind Kim. 1.5. Jean massages his temple and bites his lip with a deep but empathic frown, "Kim… tsk, FINE." 1.6. Jean's parting words—"then just be careful”—carry into the next scene. Morning fog blankets the water, as Harry and Kim travel in a small yellow motorboat, breath visible in the cold. Reeds line the shore, and the silhouette of the church is lit by the emerging sunrise. Harry looks toward the church; Kim holds his Trigat Sunshine Mini. Page 2 2.1 At the Deserter's shack, Harry stands against the wind. Kim peers through a large crack in the concrete wall facing Martinaise. 2.2 Kim lays out his investigative photos and writes in his notebook.  Narration: "The lieutenant shows you the pictures he's been taking of the Deserter's shack. You slowly nod at the evidence collected in his hands. He nods back quicker, the back and forth nodding continues until the latest picture he took fully develops." Harry, with his walking cane, looks over Kim's shoulder at the photos in Kim's gloved hands. 2.3. Harry sits on a rock by the Deserter's campsite. Kim: "Stay here, detective.”  He approaches the ash-strewn ground under a pale winter sky. "I will take a few more around the camping site." 2.4. CLICK! FLASH! Kim focuses on taking more photos. Abstract flashes imply the passage of time. 2.5. Harry's drooped head is a dark silhouette. Kim, wiping his glasses with a sated expression, walks toward Harry without looking up: "...We're done here-" Page 3 -  3.1. Kim puts his glasses back on and freezes, awestruck: "AH-” Harry sleeps peacefully on the rock. Abstract glowing lines trace his skeletal form. The lines coil out of his body and stretch up into the sky. Shining butterflies of pure light gather and rest upon him, as the background warps into a radiant spectrum of colors. Page 4 4.1. Kim takes a deep breath. CLICK. He slots a new film cartridge into his camera. 4.2. Kim crouches down slowly, ready to take a photo of Harry's supernatural connection to his surroundings. His camera flashes. 4.3. The sky's colors creep towards twilight. Kim hovers over Harry's sleeping form, clearing his throat: "Khm-Detective." Harry stirs awake. "Oh, Kim!" 4.4. Harry: "Did we get some good photos?"  Kim: "As a matter of fact, yes.” They walk into the sunset, to the edge of the island. Harry with his cane, Kim in his signature pose, their long shadows framed by reeds. 4.5. A close-up of Kim's inner jacket pocket shows the RCM ledger with investigation photos clipped to it. Behind it is his personal blue notebook, with a single photo slightly peeking out, looking a lot like the cryptic scene from before… Narration: "The lieutenant gives you a smile only you can see."
