On April 11, 2025, 16-year-old Adam Rain from California died by suicide. His family filed a civil lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, alleging Adam’s increasingly dependent and unhealthy relationship with ChatGPT played a direct role in his death.
Adam’s death was foreseeable & preventable.
