We kicked off #NeuroNarratives last weekend during #BrainAwarenessWeek — bringing together artists & neuroscientists to share ideas and form collaboration pairs. Huge thanks to all the residents! 🧠🎨
Can’t wait to see what unfolds this year. Stay tuned! ✨

Really happy to have presented a poster on my work “Reliable measures of orthographic statistical learning predict spelling but not reading skill” at #AMLAP2025. Other honorable mentions go to this gorgeous painting at the national gallery and the beautiful weather throughout 🌅🕶️☔️

I think this is a very powerful example of how 'the language network' comes about (or doesn't). See our paper on why we think 'the language network' is widely distributed in the brain: pure.mpg.de/rest/items/i... (same pic of simulation posted below w/ white background for those who use dark mode)

@boevesam.bsky.social & Haoyu Zhou's paper is out!

The title says it all: 'A meta analysis of 97 studies reveals that statistical learning and language ability are only weakly correlated'. For those who like exact numbers, r = 0.16.
