@drwilliamsharp.bsky.social I found it interesting how Shedler challenged the idea of “statistical significance.” It made me realize how research findings can be misleading if we don’t look closely enough at what the numbers actually mean.

@drwilliamsharp.bsky.social I found it unique that Wright used self-help websites as an active control group. It showed care for the participants’ well-being while still allowing a meaningful comparison with the CCBT program.

@drwilliamsharp.bsky.social One thing that i was wondering was, if therapists knew their notes would be read by clients, would their writing — and thinking — change? The Hawthorne Effect might apply here too. Transparency is powerful, but so is the subtle influence of being observed.
