I have paintings that I’m never happy with. I can pull them off my pile at any time and continue to play with them. This is one of them. This morning I changed it for the third time.

The MSNBC montage played clip after clip of Patel demanding accountability from past FBI directors for what he called “private jet joyrides.”

A couple more sketches.

I’m experimenting with gouache in a small sketchbook of toned paper. The paper is lightweight and designed for drawing and sketching with dry media. A little water with watercolor makes it buckle. Hopefully using gouache thicker will reduce the warping.

It was another beautiful evening here. I had to get out and paint. It was either that or do yard work. Tough choice.

I liked the atmosphere at the edge of this meadow on a rainy morning a few weeks ago. Acrylic on canvas mounted on panel, 9x16”

If I paint outside I can’t eat all the Halloween candy.

Thicker paint on board. Just having fun. Not sure about that shadow in the foreground.

A squishy version of a recent landscape. The thicker paint creates some visual vibration that I like.

I could no longer tolerate my last figure painting continuing to exist in this world. I cut it in half and this is the top half. I may use the bottom half to try this scene again. This was just supposed to be the underpainting to map out the shapes, but I feel like it concluded prematurely.

Is anybody actually here or is it all bots and fake accounts?

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I think my brain too quickly crosses wires with viridian.

I skipped my pre-breakfast physical workout today to do a little painting workout instead. Many of my views are from a road. I usually omit signs and telephone poles and electric lines. Putting them into the painting once in a while creates a tension that provides some interest.

Just a small and quick cloud study after lunch today. Acrylic on paper.

This is the point where I decide to either leave it alone or start adding the texture and leaves to the trees and grasses. I’m gonna pin it to my wall and live with it the way it is for a while. For now it’s done. Acrylic on paper, 7x11”

Trump wiped out $1.3 Billion owed by fraudsters... but remember forgiving the student loans is bad socialism.
