I connected a WiFi enabled solenoid valve to a hose and set up a script on my phone so when the camera detected a squirrel it got blasted with the hose briefly. It was very effective.

The fanfare for the latest bullshit machine is that it apparently now only bullshits 27.9% of the time. State of the art!

I used 7.5% LESS electricity over the last 12 months compared to the year prior (slightly milder summer + new inverter window AC). My 'budget billing' payment is increasing by 29% for the next 12 months.

The 50 year mortgage stuff is funny but Pulte needs to go NOW. He's actively destroying Fannie Mae in a tantrum as we speak. Details worse than the headline. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Housing official Bill Pulte fired ethics workers who were looking into his ally
The actions have also sowed uncertainty and undermined confidence in Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte across the housing finance industry.

I'm genuinely at a loss to think of another living person who has singularly done so much harm to the human race. And this was true before he started converting the scam ad dollars into pure heat energy.
Someone ought to run for president on a platform of outlawing Meta and sending Mark Zuckerberg to a supermax prison for his crimes against humanity
Meta earns $3.5 billion every six months from showing Faceboon and Instagram users 15 billion “higher legal risk” scam ad impressions a day, internal documents state.

That haul vastly exceeds how much the company expects regulators
To fine it for running scam ads.

The diminished 2025 version of hitting paydirt on a forgotten/niche music dig is when you can feel the delay as the streaming app traverses to deeper levels of the CDN instead of the optimized normie zone

Repeated Blue Angels flyovers around DC seems like a very cool thing to inflict upon air traffic controllers who aren't getting paid during the shutdowns. I guess the crash at DCA earlier this year due to ATC issues is several lifetimes ago.

A rare bright spot in this increasingly grim existence: discovering an unused MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 buried in the closet and bringing it to the office. Totally forgot that I bought an extra when they got discontinued.

The WSJ is pretty good at Musk reporting overall but it is malpractice to frame his nonsense Tesla AI narrative without a single mention that by all accounts he put 99% of his post-DOGE energy into xAI instead of Tesla, literally extorting it for his new comp package www.wsj.com/business/aut...

I don't give a shit about the White House as a sanctified symbol of this dumb country, but I defy anyone to think of a bit of construction work that is MORE illegal in this country - when done outside the proper channels - than that.

I don't think people have yet reckoned with the long-term effects of airlines racing to reduce cabin capacity with more premium seating. Combined with personalized algorithmic pricing, ticket prices are going to skyrocket in coming years.
