Sunday Times bestselling author of the Jonah Sheens series and other crime to come. Obsessive tea drinker and pun maker. Mostly silly.
My lovely lodger just revealed that when she first looked round the house, she'd sort-of forgotten my name, so when she saw all these multiple copies of different books by one person she thought I was an actual stalker.

But she still chose to move in because we have a dishwasher.

Happy New Year all!

Thought I might brighten your day with this ray of sunshine from 14yo:

"I messaged everyone I knew saying I hadn't had a shower this year a minute BEFORE midnight."

(I would like to state here and now that I am only *technically* related to him.)

There's an enormously long corridor at the site where I'm doing contract work atm. It's crazy long - like you can barely make out people's faces at the far end.

The best thing about it is the potential for major awkwardness. For example: 🧵

I LOVE a Nikki Smith humdinger! Can't wait for this. 🤩
Am so excited to reveal the cover of my new book #TheyHadItComing 😃😃😎
It’s set in Bali amongst the digital nomad community and features two couples who are out for revenge.
Out in May, retweets & pre-orders much appreciated!
(And thank you Viking @penguinbooks.bsky.social for the fab video!)

I made pecan pie, and had a load of leftover mix from having assumed my pie dish was the size of the Atlantic.

I have now made up for this by looking at an empty jar of Biscoff Spread and going "I think that'll just fit."

LOOK HOW WELL IT FITS.

I can confirm that this sometimes happens in my industry.
I regret to inform you that I do sometimes judge a book by its cover.

How many of the 1k quote shares of this are like:

"Most high res photo of Uranus yet."

Asking for a friend...
High resolution image of a planet 3 billion km away and its rings.
Uranus by JWST.

Ok, I'm in! Who else?
Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘latibulate’, a 17th-century verb meaning to find a corner somewhere and hide in it.

Waiting for next teacher at 14yo's parents' evening, I find myself remembering my proudest one:

Year 5. A fab teacher said "I love having him in the class! We have such great chats. He used to sit in front of me, but I had to move him to the back because I wasn't getting any work done."

🥰😂😂
