Turns out wireless mice are great to use up remaining alkaline battery lifespan (from 1.2v down to 0.6v).
Most portable battery devices won't even turn at <1.2v.
Good way to give batteries a full 2nd life before recycling them.

If banks and telcos businesses in SG were to stomach part of customer #scam losses, it's a matter of time where additional costs are passed to consumers.
