Was at my toddler's daycare when I saw two siblings, a boy and a girl, fight each other. The mom carried the boy in her arms and this 4-year old boy turned to his 3-year old sister, grinned, and gave her the middle finger. I don't usually clutch my pearls, but I was flabbergasted

I should've expected my devout Catholic mom would eat up zionist propaganda. I avoid talking politics to my parents at all costs but she brought up zionist rhetoric and I had to try and educate her about the genocide against Palestinians. She quickly switched topics. Sigh.

I told my mom that her and my dad's political affiliations are acting so much like a cult and that everything they're choosing to watch just reinforces their own biases and they're unable to think critically. She got flustered and changed the subject. I think my parents are a lost cause.
