Delegate for Virginia's 22nd House District. Social worker. Latina. Immigrant. Union Sister. Mom to 4.
HB1502 is a bill directing Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality to conduct a one year study on standby generators at commercial facilities (including data centers) that hold air permits.

The goal? Identify who’s using them, what pollutants they’re emitting, and how much of it.

An honor to speak with the Coalition of 100 Black Women last week. I discussed my bills to protect federal workers, strengthen our schools, and the critical solidarity between Black and Brown women.

Great discussion last week with @deshundra.bsky.social on strengthening the bonds between state and local government.
When Richmond and Prince William County coordinate effectively, we can better meet the needs of families and businesses across the community!
Thank you!

Investing in our students AND our communities.
My bill, HB413, creates a certified nurse aid (CNA) training program in our high schools, giving students a start on a healthcare career while helping to build our future workforce. A win-win for Virginia! #FutureNurses #VirginiaEducation #CareerReady

Brentsville pride on the House floor! So proud to introduce the Brentsville Civic Association on the House floor—true champions for our community. Thank you for your devotion to community civic engagement. Your dedication inspires us all. Welcome to the Capitol! #Brentsville

Proud to introduce HB955 to ensure transparency in Virginia’s public higher education system. This bill will provide the General Assembly with clear, annual data on in-state, out-of-state, and international student enrollment.

Teamwork makes the dream work! Honored to be a Chief Co-Patron of HB1, the bill to raise Virginia’s minimum wage to $15. This would not be possible without the incredible leadership of Delegate Jeion Ward, Chief Patron of HB1.

New Virginia minimum wage passes out of the House
The bill now heads to the Senate where it’ll likely also pass along party lines.

Bullying hurts more than just feelings; it impacts mental health. 🧠❤️‍🩹
Proud to author HB957—a confidential first step to protect student wellbeing, stop trauma early, and connect kids to support. Because a safe mind is the foundation for learning. #mentalhealthsupport #stopbullying🚫

Proud to have authored HB495—because student mental health support shouldn’t end at the classroom door.

Our school bus drivers are on the front lines, building relationships with kids daily. Now, they’ll have the training to spot signs of struggle and help connect students with care.

Proud to announce HB 416, which streamlines local use of school buses, has passed on its third reading!

It lets localities reimburse school boards for insurance costs instead of managing separate policies.

This saves money and creates less administrative red tape! 🚌✅

Incredibly honored to stand with my brothers and sisters as we fight to get rid of the Farmworker Minimum Wage exemption. As an immigrant, a former minimum-wage worker holding three jobs, and a union member myself, the fight for dignity and fair pay is personal.

Great to join my AFL-CIO brothers and sisters for a night of fun and laughter. Workers deserve dignity and fair pay, that’s why I am glad to be a Chief co-patron of HB 20 that would remove the exemption on minimum wage for farm workers, and HB 1092 protecting workers from heat stress.

Powerful moments in our city aren't always loud. Today, it is the quiet, determined footsteps of monks who have walked from Texas for peace. As a public servant, their pilgrimage inspires me.

Happy Black History Month! This is a time to honor the profound and enduring contributions of Black Americans to our nation's story.

This month serves as a vital reminder of stories that some seek to downplay or erase.

The most important part of my job is to listen. This weekend @repsuhas.bsky.social hosted a great town hall conversation on data centers and I was honored to participate. Sincere thanks to every constituent who shared their thoughts and stories.

🏥 I introduced a budget amendment for the health of Virginia families. While the White House creates policies that leave people without coverage and drive up everyone’s medical costs, we have a choice in Virginia.

Honored to introduce the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Dreamers Mother In Action on the House floor today. I stand with their tireless commitment in empowering the community through collective action on the issues that directly affect their lives! Thank you for all you do in Virginia.

Fixing the Bristow Manor sewer system should not cost homeowners $120,000 each. Yesterday, I introduced a budget amendment to provide the final $2.5M needed to fix the failing system.

From the Senate to the Governor’s Mansion, I am excited to see @amyklobuchar.com run to lead Minnesota! A champion for Minnesotans who knows how to deliver and fight for the people she represents! She helped me get back to Richmond and I am ready to help her to bring peace to Minnesota. Let's go!

It's MS Awareness Day.
For many, MS is an invisible part of daily life. Today, we make it visible. Ask questions, show support, wear orange. A little awareness goes a long way!
Thank you Chairwoman @jeionward.bsky.social for your advocacy and for sharing your personal story. #msawareness 🧡

A win for local transparency and smart planning! My bill to require data centers to disclose their expected water use (HB496) has passed its first hurdle in Subcommittee #3.
January 24, 2026 at 7:25 PM
I had the pleasure of meeting some young, upstanding future leaders from the Future Farmers of America chapter at Brentsville District High School! It was an honor today to recognize them and their achievements on House floor of the General Assembly.

‼️🚨Proud to have introduced HB 414, a bill to remove the Selective Service registration barrier from state financial tuition assistance. This bipartisan bill aligns the Commonwealth with federal law, and keeps Virginia academically competitive.
