Saltburn had good reviews & ratings during its cinema run.

Then it came on Amazon and every dumbfuck decided to watch it and vomit out their opinions.

And so it seems to have been decided by The Internet that they would shit all over whatever she did next... And quelle surprise!

We do not need another fucking adaptation of The Mist. We just dont.

How many original screenplays are being left while we get repeated adaptations of things that have been done well?

Watched this cheesy 90s gem last night, which gives me an excuse to listen to the classic @whmpodcast.bsky.social episode.

"President Dick Hotdog"

"President Punch"

Steve's George C Scott impression.

Andrew's digression about which real life presidents would suit this scenario best.

Superb.

Shitty right-wing British media (plus the Musk weaponised Twitter algorithm) have relentless bashed Starmer and Labour for 18 months in a way they never did the atrocious Tories.

They want PM Farage and wont stop till they get it.

We are sleepwalking into fascism the way America did.

Two old classics, a disappointment and a total disaster.

If you want to correctly adapt John Bishop's life for the US, then Will Arnett's character should be a New Yorker who leaves NY aged 2 and moves to Boston.

Then when he becomes a comic 40 years later, his entire act is about him being from NY and speaking with an affected NY accent.

Actors in biopics do *not* need to look EXACTLY like the people they are playing. Character is more important than characteristics.

The infantile online reaction to the 4 Beatles pics is embarassing.

Catherine O'Hara. RIP. Fucking hell, never expected this one. She's been burned into my brain for 38 years thanks to Beetlejuice. Massive loss.

2014. A film year where the Best Actor Oscar was won by a performance that shouldn't have been nominated.

And the performance that should have won wasn't even nominated.

Not many instances of that over the years.

Sycophantic British media trying to walk us into fascism.

Disgraceful excuse for journalism.
January 26, 2026 at 11:02 PM
Sorry, but if you use the tiresome word "snub", you should explain who YOU think the 5 nominees should have been so we can then ask why you "snubbed" so-and-so.

Even famous people.

Everyone will soon STFU.

Write all the best lead male performances this year and you'll have a very strong list of 15-20. Now pick the 5 best.

Now get 11k people to do the same thing. Total up the 5 with the most votes.

The rest have not been "snubbed". Stop this stupid fucking narrative.

History is facts, not opinions. It is what happened.

In school, I was never fully taught British imperial history. It was all "ra ra rule Britannia" and Churchill shite. I had to learn as an adult on my own.

Americans need to be taught their history, warts and all.

Nope.

Amazon will fuck this franchise up.

Best Casting was a missed opportunity to pick a few offbeat and less-publicised films instead of just more noms for the main best pic nominees.

Maybe it will take a few years to get into its groove.

16 nominations for Sinners and 13 for One Battle is totally ridiculous. No imagination. So many other interesting options out there.

Social media having an influence on newer Academy members perhaps.

Zero nominations for Wicked is hilarious though.

Who is the new He-Man movie for? Does anyone under 40 give a shit about it?

I grew up on the cartoon in the 80s but even 47 year old me has zero interest in this film.

Why do 40+ year old men want to sound like dumb 25 year olds?

"Greatest of all time"... what?

He panders to GenZ with is twitter-speak bullshit so much it's embarassing. I unfollowed the podcast a few months ago because of it.

One of the most disappointing cinema experiences I can remember. Absolutely *loved* the first one. Was super excited for this.

Fucking hated it.

Still do.

Smug. Self-indulgent. Dull.

Julia Roberts playing Julia Roberts was a bridge too far.

I see that Americans have now discovered the film Pillion and have some astonishingly stupid opinions of it.

IMDB rating has already dropped by .4 too

So fucking glad I saw it in UK cinemas 2 months ago.

It's a gem, check it out.
