Continuing on with some cataloging of yokai menkos, and these are special. All date from around the 1910s, and I believe are woodblock printed. Backs are mirror images, but only an outline, no color. #cardsky

One of my main subjects I enjoy collecting most is Japanese Yokai menkos. These supernatural monsters, spirits, demons, ghosts, and shapshifters from Japanese folklore are amazing. They range from malicious to mischievous or helpful. Here's several from a set printed in 1950. #cardsky

Here's a trio of vintage menkos of HOFer Fumio Fujimura, who played 22 seasons for the Osaka Tigers. He began as a stellar pitcher before becoming a HOF hitter. Held the single-season hits record (191) for 44 years until Ichiro broke it.

There are a few menko sets of Batman & Robin that were printed & released in Japan during the 1960s. So far, I've found 9 in this set with the circular military backs. Love the artwork on these. #cardsky
