Don't get me wrong I love living in Canada but I could do without all these snowstorms. Alpha Flight #6 from 1984 by John Byrne #comicsky I've never identified with Snowbird more than I do right now.

Books from 2025 I loved, The New Gods by Ram V, Evan Cagle, Jesse Lonergan, Francesco Segala and Tom Napolitano. It really scratched that Kirby 4th World itch for me. #booksky #comicsky

Comic book runs I love, The Legion of Super-Heroes, Five Years Later... from 1989. It was a novel idea at the time of the getting the band together after a calamity and I was hooked. #booksky #comicsky

I have a confession to make, in 1988 I got my parents permission and I called the number to dispatch the Jason Todd Robin to the great comic book beyond. In my own defence I didn't think they'd really go through with it so that's on me. #booksky #comicsky

In 1987 I was all about this Silver Surfer series, cover by Marshall Rogers. Thirty Nine years later I'm still very fond of it. #booksky #comicsky

Things being grim in the world I think I'll read a comic book I read as a kid. My first introduction to Dr. Fate back in 1982, The Flash 306 with artwork by the great Carmine Infantino and Bob Smith. #booksky #comicsky

I desperately wanted to read this as a kid, cover by Neal Adams, Ross Andru and Carmine Infantino. #booksky #comicsky Glad they're reprinting it so I can read it, avoiding spoilers for it for fifty years.

Comic book runs I love, the 1987 to 1992 Suicide Squad from DC Comics. #booksky #comicsky Took an old concept and characters no one really cared about and influenced comic books for years to come. Written by John Ostrander, with art by Luke McDonell and Karl Kesel with cover by Howard Chaykin.

DC Comics Presents 62 Superman and the Freedom Fighters. Cover by Gil Kane. Forty seven years later and as timely as ever in this deeply stupid time we live in. #booksky #comicsky

The classic Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo started being published on December 20 1982. Phenomenal piece of work. #booksky #comicsky If you haven't read it or watched the movie you really should.

I'll admit I was sceptical about the Absolute line from DC Comics. I hadn't read the event that set it up but because of the creative teams involved I gave it a chance. Some of the best comic books of 2025 if you ask me. #booksky #comicsky #DCcomics

Obviously with a little over a week until Christmas it would be irresponsible to buy any more old comic books. The Spectre 3 from 1968 with this beautiful Neal Adams cover is now a treasured part of my irresponsible asses collection. #booksky #comicsky

R.I.P. to the great American auteur Rob Reiner. Rob Reiner made seven excellent movies from 1984 to 1992, an incredible run for anyone. Incredible human being and filmmaker. Tragic news about him and his wife. #filmsky

Another exceptional comic book from 2025 is Assorted Crisis Events from Image Comics. Writer Deniz Camp is certainly having a great year and artist Eric Zawadzki is doing incredible work. #booksky #comicsky

We're Taking Everyone Down With Us from Image comics is one of the best comic books I read in 2025. Shades of the Venture Bros with a dash of Archer but also it's own wild ride.
