We had a fantastic volunteer session with i4 Product Design in Swanston. We maintained just under 300m of hedge line which we planted a few years ago, alongside planting 75 trees ranging from Hazel, Silver Birch, Downy Birch, Wild Cherry and Sessile Oak. Thank you to team i4 for their help.

We had a wonderful afternoon in Inch Park sowing more yellow rattle seed and admiring the trees. Working with the Friends of Inch Park Committee who have some upcoming events you can get involved with this month - tree planting on 7th Feb and litter picking on the 14th Feb.

We were absolutely delighted to have 25 people at Goodtrees Neighbourhood Centre for a workshop on vegetable growing. Nadia Russell, horticultural tutor and allotment enthusiast, shared her expert knowledge and advice. We love these opportunities to bring people together.

We had fun in West Pilton Park with families for our Wellies in the Woods project, helping connect children with nature through story telling. We enjoyed reading The Oak Tree by Julia Donaldson, which inspired activities to do with acorns, animal homes and bird nests. @groundworkuk.bsky.social

We were sowing yellow rattle seed in the relaxed mowing areas of Inch Park which is great for biodiversity because it reduces the dominance of grass and opens up space for a wider variety of wildflowers. Thrilled to see some crocus and snowdrops - the first signs of spring.

Great session with youth build team preparing a space for a woodland play and activity space for Craigmillar Early Years Centre. They cleared an old wall from the gate to make a path and access and pulled brambles and raked leaves ready for woodchip. Great job. #outdoorlearning
