I highly recommend watching the most recent LA County Public Health town hall, which includes a Q&A.

Local health officials go through all the latest test results for air, soil, drinking water, sand, ocean water, and beach debris and talk about how they continue to monitor conditions

After a month of delays and intense debate, the Los Angeles City Council has voted down a plan that would have given gardeners, nannies and other workers who lost income in the fires new protections from eviction.

Get the details in my @laist.com story:
Eviction protections for renters who lost jobs after the fires fails key LA City Council vote
After a contentious debate pitting landlords against renters — and councilmembers against each other — a post-fire eviction proposal didn’t secure enough votes to pass.

Thousands of volunteers will spread out across Los Angeles this week to take an official tally of the region’s unhoused population — an effort that carries new urgency after the recent wildfires.

I support #SB42 which gives CA voters the ability to empower the state's General Law cities w/the option to enact public financing #cleanmoney programs for local elections. Such cities should also be empowered to enact #rankedchoicevoting if they wish

California voters may decide if cities can fund local campaigns with public money
The bill would not require cities to adopt public financing plans, Sen. Tom Umberg said, but rather give them the option to do so.

Polluters Pay is a basic principle of environmental justice. Corporations will never VOLUNTARILY stop destroying our shared climate. They are motivated only by fear of fiscal losses.

Democrats like to pretend they are interested in the environment…let Gavin Newsom prove it by getting SB1247 passed
