On a side note - I am thoroughly enjoying listening ti Irena Shapiro’s historical fiction books. Her writing is so descriptive and puts you back in time through great storytelling. I recommend taking a loom / listen.

Why do so many folks extrapolate what is happening in the US to the entire rest of the world. Big world. . . not driven by US internal chaos but affected it and definitely responding to it but holy poop!

Most Jews who were transported to Auschwitz were given the illusion of resettlement and were given instructions to pack the most important items with them. This was not only a planned robbery. In such a way, hope became a tool to avoid panic among the victims.
