My draft wasn't working, but I think I've figured out how to rework one of the character arcs to make it much better. Writing two POVs is hard!

My writing goal this week is to update a chapter of my WIP so I can send it to my CP. I'm currently trying to finish the first draft of a fantasy novel. I also have a semi-secret project that I'm working on for this year. But, I won't make any announcements yet.

I set my reading goal for the year to be 52 books. I read 87 last year. It's not that I plan on reading less, I just want to make the goal achievable.

Writing snippet: “I hope you aren’t leaving already,” Julian said from behind her. “Yes… maybe… I don’t know...” Staying at the ball wasn’t appealing and there wasn’t much point in persuading Julian to go on the quest anymore. “You were right when we talked at the market, it’s uncomfortably hot in the ballroom. I was hoping for some fresh air. Were you looking for me?” Julian took a sip from a goblet and wiped his forehead with the back of his hand. “It’s a pleasant surprise, but after dancing, I needed some air myself. Since the weather isn’t cooperating, I can show you somewhere else that might suit you.”

I might not be making progress on finishing writing my book. But, my crochet projects are going really well!

This is my first try at crocheting with seed beads. After I restarted a few times, I got the hang of how to do it.

I like to just sit down and start writing. Usually, I take a few minutes to think about the main character and the basic conflict of the story. Then I let the characters drive the story.

I kept the animals in my fantasy novel similar to what we have. They keep cats and dogs as pets. In the wild, there are bears, snakes, song birds and other animals. In another fantasy novel I wrote, there are dragons.
