Apropos of my previous post… cold weather people: I just discovered something and want to know if it’s a “thing”. My jacket fell into the footwell of my car while driving so when I put it on it had been warmed by the car heat. Is this a thing? Do people do this on purpose? It was amazing!

Reposting because I can figure out how to bookmark, but lots of hash functions mentioned and hash functions are fun!
Does anyone have opinions on non-cryptographic hashes that are relatively simple, can be done streaming (don't know the length apriori), have good avalanche characteristics, and produce a 64-bit output?
Currently using fnv1a64 for postcard-rpc schema hashing, wondering if there's something better.
