The upcoming #Australian election is another opportunity to engage with the issues in a real and authentic way.

It's worth taking a few minutes every few years to see what's happening with each of the political parties to ensure our vote counts

Should we kill the essay? 90% of my #assessment in #education was essays. #ai and LLMs create major complications for this, especially if every part of the task can be done by chatgpt.

I'm trying to improve my social media habits. Today my goal is to figure out a way to filter out all content that uses the terms underrated, overrated, overlooked and underappreciated.

How do you know someone has #medialiteracy ? They know what affect their speech has on their audience.

I'm rewatching Discovery, and I love it. An updated format for the modern audience with the same themes of hope, curiosity, and cooperation. Sure, it's not a perfect #startrek series, but I still love Voyager even though it's got Neelix. Plus I do think the spore drive is peak #trek fun

The advantage of #movefastbreakthings is that you replace something that worked with nothing. It's an incredible efficiency at causing suffering.

It's important to know that people who you generally disagree with aren't enemies. This man is conservative and i disagree with most of his ideas but he's got it 100% right here

It's bizarre going into AI subreddits and lemmy threads. They're all so mindlessly positive and automatronic that I'm certain it's just AI bots spruiking themselves

Rather than having Trump news every day could we just have two lists:

1. Things we need to fight today
2. Things we need to fix in 4 years

I've always liked the trolley problem but we can do modern variants.

"If a ceo is murdered, you'll save a thousand lives when the board changes its policies. Discuss in terms of utility."

Are you stressed about the latest executive order from Trump?

Type "is it constitutional to (insert executive order order)? Provide links to the relevant section or amendment" into a generative AI.

Chances are the answer will be encouraging.

It's really important that we not engage with the nonsense issues like renaming countries because they're a deliberate distraction from the big issues like defunding cancer research

Imagine looking at government services and saying "the problem is that there are too many people there. Drastically cutting their budget will improve the service!"

Makes sense for Gordon Gekko at least

If you click on a link for a story that reads "politician slammed for their view ", it just means someone is talking shit about them on twitter
January 27, 2025 at 7:49 PM
If a politician genuinely wants to help men, they'll have a plan for social and mental health interventions.

If they just want to make people angry, they'll vaguely mumble about feminism
