Great segment @chrislhayes.bsky.social on what’s going on in West Ada, Idaho and standing up!

According to the West Ada policy, pro sport team photos are allowed. Wouldn’t it be great a few teams took a team photo with those signs and sent them to Sarah Inama’s class?

Teacher ordered to remove signs from classroom, including one saying ‘Everyone is welcome here’
"There are only two opinions on this sign: Everyone is welcome here, or not everyone is welcome here,” argues Sarah Inama, a sixth-grade history teacher.

If you live in *any* state, call your member of Congress. @usdptofagriculture.bsky.social has cancelled Local Food Purchasing Assistance agreements in every state, agreements that helped farmers gain access to new markets and directly supported food banks and schools.

If you think DEI leads to unqualified hiring, I encourage you to reflect on why you feel diversity and inclusion is somehow equated with mediocrity. Opportunity for all elevates excellence for everyone. And a level playing field makes the best rise higher. DEI means more talent, not less merit.

@usedgov.bsky.social if we end diversity, will schools be segregated again? If we end equity, do we stop meeting student needs? If we end inclusion, are schools only accessible for some kids?

Diversity, equity, and inclusion do not lead to discrimination. But ending DEI programs certainly will.

“Out of a mountain of despair, a stone of hope.”

Despite all that’s going on in the world, I refuse to give up hope.

Being an #EquityCentered school leader means being committed to diversity, equality, inclusion, belonging, justice, and unity as we identify student needs and do whatever we can to address them.
