At the Inter-Parliamentary Union's General Assembly, Hazel De Wet, Deputy Director, @unicef.org's Office of Emergency Programmes called on parliamentarians as legislators, budget-holders and advocates to champion inclusive education policies and keep #EiE at the heart of the humanitarian response.

⚠️ 17,200 students have been killed
🚨 97% schools sustained damage
🏫 366 temporary learning spaces run by Education Cluster partners were forced to pause/close due to insecurity, Israeli military evacuation orders, funding shortages

🎒 Today, over 700,000 students in #Gaza should be starting the new school year.

Instead of hopeful anticipation during this #BackToSchool season, the right to education is once again denied for Gaza's children. Many may never return to school.
