Cedar and Willow classes wowed us today with Glendinning’s first-ever nativity. We were treated to a wonderful retelling of the traditional story full of humour, warmth and energy. We are so proud of our students; for many this was the first time they had ever performed in front of an audience.

🎭We had a fantastic morning at the Princess Theatre in Torquay watching Sleeping Beauty. Everyone was in great spirits and thoroughly enjoyed the show, which contained some hilarious moments that many students appreciated… does ‘6-7’ mean anything to anyone?! 🎭

A group of our girls in school spent a day at the local Mare & Foal Sanctuary this week, grooming, mucking out and enjoying time with the gorgeous horses and ponies. We think the animals enjoyed their visit as much as they did!

Today our students took part in an exciting Boccia tournament at Clennon Valley Leisure Centre, with four teams representing us; two in the primary event and two in the secondary event.
We’re thrilled to share that both age groups earned Silver and Bronze medals in their respective competitions!

A massive well done to Cedar class and thanks to everyone who has supported their cause. Our donation of £61.20 has ensured that six families will get essential hygiene supplies for three months. What a wonderful gesture which will have a real impact on the communities.

Wow. How great are these?! Oak class looked at the work of American, ‘graffiti-inspired artist’ Keith Haring and used it as inspiration for their own pieces. They focused on bold lines, simplified figures, patterns and movement lines as Keith did whilst putting their own slant on it.

“Positivity pebbles" with a slight difference. Larch wrote little positive comments on thin pieces of woot and have placed them around the grounds for others to find.
This is part of a WAVE initiative called Planet Earth, to raise awareness of our responsibility for the world around us.

Oak class have been out and about for Life Skills starting the Newton Abbot Treasure Trail. They have been following directions, hunting for and solving clues all whilst working on managing themselves and keeping safe out in the community.

As part of their Duke of Edinburgh award, Year 10 did some volunteering by cleaning up our local waterways. Using a hauling system, teamwork and a lot of effort we pulled out a huge amount of rubbish. These were collected by the council and taken straight to the recycling centre.

🎵 Cedar and Willow classes were treated to a wonderful afternoon of music with our fabulous Visiting Music Teacher, Kip, who led sessions on ‘storytelling and composition’ in each class. Here are Cedar class, composing and playing music based around their ‘Castles’ topic! 🎵

Cedar class have worked really hard to raise money for the Myanmar earthquake appeal. We baked a range of goodies, made posters and leaflets and ran a cake sale. We have raised over £60 for the appeal, which we know will help to provide blankets, food and drinking water for several families.

Sycamore Class visited Yarner Woods on the edge of Dartmoor for their outdoor learning session. Yarner woods are known for ancient woodland, rare mosses and lichens and birds. We spent some time in the bird hide, looking at the remains of some huge ant nest and walking through this amazing woodland.

🥉We would like to extend our congratulations to George in Year 10, who did amazingly in his jujitsu competition this weekend. He was pushed up two age categories which meant he was against 16/17 year olds and still walked away with a bronze medal! Well done George and keep up the great work!🥉
