Amateur scribbler about Huddersfield Town (but less committed these days).
St Greg’s (Huddersfield) had a magnificent football team in about 1973 which got to the semi final of the English Schools cup with Tony in it. I remember getting the afternoon off to watch it.

His good friend Gerry Quinn, also in the team, managed Emley against West Ham in the FA Cup 3rd round.
I never knew Tony Galvin had a degree in Russian. This is the kind of gold you only get from @vftlpodcast.bsky.social

Apologies for delay (jet lag, nephew’s engagement party, late up Sunday morning….). Grant needs solutions and soon. #htafc

Brewing up a stinker
Brewing up a stinker Even a convincing win against lowly Burton Albion wouldn’t have absolved Town from the ignominy of defeat at Valley Parade seven days earlier. That derby capitulation crystalli…

Last one for a while (away for next 2 league games and not giving any credence to that midweek abomination) #htafc

Tangled up in ecru
Tangled up in ecru For the second successive away trip in the league, Town self-immolated in bizarre fashion, handing their hosts a deserved, but not particularly hard-earned, victory. The majority…

Echoed (apart from the books part as I’ve none to sell)
I would like everyone to buy all my books, obviously, but I would like it more if Huddersfield Town could just win the first game of the season with some swashbuckling footy and no drama, please and thank you

A little light pokes through the gloom
An away win at a venue which has very often proved too challenging for Huddersfield Town teams of the past, serves as a balm for the painful and bruising recent events.  While temporarily soot…

Good luck to Paul Ramsden after 17 years service and an integral part of the “matchday experience” as they insist on calling a day out at the football. #htafc

Moving in the wrong direction
Without a home goal in 2025, and with the last one scored being an exceptionally fortunate gift from the opposition, Town’s imploding season is beginning to limp well below acceptable levels. A lon…

Not much beats a Boxing Day game. Is it time to fully embrace Michael Duff? I think so. #htafc

Duff delivers
A misty, atmospheric John Smith’s Stadium saw a disciplined, pragmatic Town side overcome a technically superior Stockport County in a fascinating contest only lacking in goalscoring opportunities.…
