Sooo, we all understand that the whole point of not releasing the list is not just because a certain name is all over it but also because he now gets to use it in the same way Epstein himself did, right?

Many pagans' understanding of magic turns out sounding exactly like Christianity if you just substitute "Nature" with "God".

"You shouldn't subvert Nature's laws and intents" is not the good argument you think it is.

Blue-ringed female octopuses get either a snack or some dope every time they get laid.

Things you would rather not know: during the Medieval period special bandaids were made with the desiccated flesh of corpses.

I can't believe I have to say this but international humanitarian projects are not about a certain country wanting to be "good", they are primarily about power and influence. Stopping all of them is not a decision that is cruel but smart, it is cruel AND very stupid.

Being a parent means hearing "I have a question" and not knowing if what is coming next is going to be about the meaning of life and death or "Can moose eat vomit?".

Just so you know, in Italian the Roman salute ("saluto romano") is just the common way to refer to the fascist/nazi salute.
And no, it was never actually a Roman salute, they (the fascists) just took it from a movie and claimed it was historical fact. Because fascists are ignorant c*nts.

When the world is going down the drain, what do you do?
You make ramen from scratch, invite friends over and discuss tarot, cosmologies and life after death.

Learning more about a traditional local type of tarot deck: "This card usually indicates a depressed man, riddled with obsessions. But, also, a priest".
Pretty savage burn, there.

Ethical consumerism is pretty much a chimera at this point, so even generative AI is a shades of grey game. However, when people start spouting nonsense about making art as an elitist activity that needs to be liberated for the masses, that's when I am over this BS.

Things people have really said to me (part 1).

"I think I have powers, probably telekinesis because one time I swear I set up the washing machine and then I came back hours later and it had moved to the middle of the room!"

Humans largely abide by the rules of the social contract because they are promised safety and a reasonably amount of fairness in return. When those are taken out of the deal the only remaining incentive is fear of punishment and that's not going to stop very disperate or very angry people.

Jason (Euripides, "Medea"): "Oh you stupid women and your one-track mind, constantly obsessed with sex!"

Dude, if projection was a realm you would need no Golden Fleece to claim it.

It is simply a fact of life that by taking up the role of teacher/guide in any occult-related context you will come in touch with students struggling with mental illnesses. Validating their delusions or trying to "heal" them is not a kindness: it can make things significantly worse very quickly.

The one magical power I wish everyone had: reading a five line email from top to bottom.

When following/building your magical tradition turns you into a zealot I have strong doubts magic is the main reason you are in that thing.
Which can be totally valid, there are many other things you can take away aside from sorcery, but it does make me doubt the quality of your magic.

One of the questions I received yesterday was about the sexual connotations of strangulation/hanging in ancient Greece.
The Greeks recognised a strict connection between the throat and the vagina, so death by strangling was the stereotypical death of the maiden trying to avoid intercourse.

Lesson two of "Hekate Unveiled" is starting soon. Today we are going to talk about the cult of Hekate in various geographical areas, her presence in ancient Mysteries and festivals. It's "just" 40 slides for this one, so buckle up for the ride!

For too long voting has been like taking quinine: it doesn't taste good and you hope (with no guarantees) that it will save you from a dreadful disease that keeps trying to come back.
Anyway, I did my duty.

While waiting for the day in which we will go back to smuggling potions and sketchy spells in exchange for a couple of chickens (that might not be that far away), I will be here trying to handle yet another social. Let's see how it goes.
