Bellringer, gardener, wannabe smallholder. Currently living in South Wales, treading water waiting for the next adventure…
Rang a peal this morning and put on my roomy trousers so that I’d be comfy… Too roomy, I had to ring the whole peal with my knees together to stop them from falling down! Not comfortable after all.

Life gets busier…

I can't believe it's been nearly three weeks since my last post, so much has happened. I have been out and about, and attended two events in person, and joined in several on-line webinars. I am now a member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulturalists, I get to put letters after my name, and I have banners that I can put at the bottom of my emails, if I want.

The start of the year is a funny time. Normally, (apart from the last five years), I would have been spending my time procrastinating and avoiding doing my tax return. This year there has been no tax return. but I have procrastinated just the same. I've tried to make good use of my procrastination, and therefore my internet browsing has had structure.

My Dendrobium nobile orchid, I’ve owned it for a week and all its buds have opened up 🌱 #orchids #bloomscrolling

I’ve rediscovered my seed collection. I’m going to have a thorough sort out, decide what I want to grow… then have a more realistic sort as I haven’t got acres of heated greenhouse space and an automatic watering system

It’s been quite a while…

So, about 10 years ago, I decided that I wanted to blog... I set up this site, and I did it - I blogged once! Now, I'm feeling the urge again, to write down some of what's going on in my life. My old blog page is still here, my profile is still mostly relevant, so I don't…

My old blog page is still here, my profile is still mostly relevant, so I don't feel any great need to update it, yet.

Beautiful Song Thrush in my suburban garden this morning. It spent quite a while rummaging under the laurel hedge. Hopefully it will return, one of my favourite garden birds. #addBirder

Fun evening out ringing at the nearest tower to my house, it’s only taken me 3 months to get round to it! Lots of old friends, and some new faces.

Very disappointed by the charity shops that I have visited in Cardiff today. One, who had been phoned this morning, and had agreed to take 6 boxes of books, would only take 4. The second one, where I was planning to take the rest of the books, plus some bric a brac, would only take one box…

It’s December 2nd and I’ve just remembered that I have bulbs to plant! The designated spot is a small weed patch with a magnolia in it, outside the front door. It’s now a small weedless patch, but the bulbs will have to wait another day. I ran out of daylight.

I’ve been thinking about the masterchef presenter who has been called out for inappropriate comments and behaviour towards women. His “defence” is that it’s only women of “a certain age” making complaints.

Today’s little victories - reorganised the study, so that the desk is now in its proper place (looking out of the window) and is clean. There is now space to sort boxes out properly. Also, two more things put on eBay

Today I took a couple of boxes of stuff to the charity shop. It’s pretty much all I’ve accomplished today, but the small amount of space created makes me feel much better.

The dog has gone home after her holiday. Trying to get the house back to some semblance of normal…. However, the dog bed was left behind accidentally, reminding me of her presence. Today’s task : empty some boxes, and restart the unpacking/sorting

I hate having a cold. My body clock is screwed up and I’m convinced that today is Friday. Nothing has been accomplished yet today…
