Garden and landscape historian researching plant nurseries. Also interested in the link between music and gardens.

Just moved here from you know where. Keen to link with people interested in garden and landscape history, especially plant nurseries and those who worked in them.
The Smithsonian, in supporting the Biodiversity Heritage Library, has transformed our ability to research garden and landscape history. Send them your messages of support now in the face of the current flagrant attack.

Now they are after the Smithsonian. Anyone involved in garden history knows how important the Bioviversity Heritage Library, @biodiversitypix.bsky.social supported by the Smithsonian, is. Support from across the Atlantic. Hold onto truth.

Please can Brit LAs support thegardenstrust.org? Government currently suggesting that TGT role as statutory consultee on planning applications for English historic gardens, designed landscapes and public parks is removed. Apparently this concern is considered ‘niche’. Words fail really.

If you see something lovely, repost it! The algorithm is basically us here. It takes a while to get used to not having your attention manipulated so much. #bluesky

Despite a gloomy week, there’s still plenty in the garden to show spring is on the way for my #SixOnSaturday.

We have hellebores, ferns, mulched rose beds, Tree Germander, hyacinths and some f course daffodils.

Have a great weekend all!
