Trump’s toadies are corrupt and incompetent. The lower courts are doing what they can but SCOTUS is controlled by right-wing extremists who determine the result they want and then come up with the justification.

At the same time the Trump administration is firing FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors who investigated the J6 insurrection, they are pardoning those directly involved in trying to overturn the election and organizing January 6th, and prosecuting the President's perceived political enemies.
Ed Martin seemed to explicitly link the pardons to his “No MAGA left behind” mantra—tweeting the news in reply to a post that said exactly that.

In addition to his role as pardon attorney, Martin leads the Weaponization Working Group, which probes alleged “politicization” of the Justice Department.

We live in a country where the government honors insurrectionists who sacked the Capitol, and defines peaceful protest, even before it occurs, to be terrorism.
They know their position is weak, they know they are unpopular, which is why they are seeking to stamp out dissent.

Wrong on so many levels and deeply sad. We’ve become a banana republic, no longer a nation where rule of law governs. Do you think, perhaps, the markets might eventually notice that our slide into autocracy is bad for the economy?

This should be getting way more attention. The Rs budget, as proposed by the Senate, would block the ability to obtain injunctive relief against even egregiously illegal government action. How? By altering FRCP 65(c)—with zero debate—to require that the plaintiff post an enormous bond.

If Trump comes after you, and you have some resources—think law firms and universities, not foreign students disappeared for speech—then you have a moral and patriotic obligation to fight back.

If nothing else, it ties up the regime’s resources. They don’t have that much. They need capitulators.
