im randomly feeling nostalgic for pre2020 internet culture. does anyone remember how in 2017/2018 there was an influx of those egirl model wannabes on ig? i used to follow many of them and admired them and their lifestyles lol. they were like the anti-vaporwave and they all disappeared by like 2019

for me, being in “real people” fandoms (bands/actors/celebs) is a much, MUCH less enjoyable experience than being in a fandom for fictional media (books/movies/anime/etc). The ever constant factor of parasociality in real people fandoms is just so offputting and frankly difficult to disengage from
