Some sad news brought over from Twitter. His books were or excellent and got me interested in the War of 1812 as were his Peninsular War books on Thomas Pearson and the Royal Welsh Fusiliers

@martypaul10.bsky.social So I watched the 1st season of Rings of Power. I have to say I didn't think it was very good and won't be watching Season 2. The problem for me was not so much ignoring Tolkien lore but simply the writing just wasn't very good. I didn't care about any of the characters.
