An Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka study has found that prolactin helps to regulate body temperature while pregnant 🤰
This finding not only furthers understanding of the body's functions during pregnancy, but could have implications for how mammals adapt to thermal changes in the future.

Helpful hormone – prolactin helps mothers keep cool during pregnancy
It supports milk production and stimulates caregiving behaviour in mothers, now a University of Otago – Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka study has found prolactin also regulates body temperature during pregnancy.
