At every visit this past year, I heard a common message: leadership isn’t measured in words—it’s measured in impact. Heading into the new year grounded in community, guided by policy, and inspired by the people of B.C. #Nanaimo #Lantzville

This shooting in Bondi was an act of antisemitic violence. My heart is with the victims, their families, and Jewish communities in Australia & around the world. No one should live in fear because of who they are. Hate and violence have no place in our societies.

Great to join Mountain Equipment Company CEO Peter Hlynsky for the MEC Nanaimo grand opening.

When Canadian companies invest, hire, and grow here at home, they create real economic opportunity.

Let’s keep our elbows up & let’s keep building a strong, confident Canadian economy. 🇨🇦💪

🚨The session may be over, but the fight to make B.C. more affordable isn’t.

I continue to push for housing affordability with my bill the Professional Reliance Act which aims to deliver real results for everyday British Columbians.⚙️🏗️

This stuff is so boring so people glaze over it, but this over the top statement is a clear example showing how some municipalities prefer micromanagement over solving the housing crisis.

Let me illustrate what UBCM is pushing back against by using an example from health care.
Local govs are encouraged to give feedback on private member bill M216 as it moves into committee. The bill limits local government due diligence on development proposals, instead letting professionals hired by developers to certify their own projects.

36 years ago, the lives of 14 women were taken at École Polytechnique. Their memory urges us to build a future free of gender-based violence, where everyone can live and learn in safety.

Thank you to the Nanaimo Duncan and District Labour Council for holding this vigil.

Great analogy of why Bill M216 matters here from @ryanjabs.bsky.social.

One year ago, we lost Premier John Horgan, a leader who met the moment for B.C. with courage, humility, and heart.

He believed in young people and pushed all of us to dream bigger for this province. John’s example still guides us.

I’ve introduced a bill to speed up permits, cut costs, & get more homes built faster.
