We asked one of our customers, @danielwirtz.com, to make our next product demo video.

The idea being—don't listen to us. Here's an actual customer who has built a successful business with @outseta.com to show you around.

Here it is—the 2026 Outseta demo! 🎬

Today I want to give a big thank you to our friends at Webflow!

A year ago they made the tough call to sunset their user accounts features, which happened today.

They gave us @outseta.com the opportunity to fill that void. Very grateful for that and the trust you put in us. 🙏

Current challenge, more than ever:

It's quite hard to find the time to learn all the cool new skills and tools that I want to while simultaneously running a business.

I've worked in a "self-managed" company for the last 9 years. I disagree.

You can replace top down management based on job titles if you create the right environment, processes, + incentives.

But few want to do that—it involves giving up control. Read
"Reinventing Organizations" for examples.
“We hate traditional management, so we only hire people who don’t need managing.”

…says the founder who doesn’t want to admit admitting they lack management skills and prefer ignorance to personal growth.

Tonight at my house (my life in a nutshell)...

6 y/o son: "Dad what's falling in love?"

Wife: Answers the question.

Son: "I'm in love with Julian (his twin brother). Can I marry him?"

We explain why not.

Me: "But falling in love is fun. It's something to look forward to."

Son: "Necesito agua."

A theme we keep coming back to at @outseta.com—software is a tool. No one want to hear us tell them how great our tools are.

Forget the hammer, the nails, the scaffolding. Show us the HOUSE. Here's 92 examples of amazing businesses built by our customers.

"We welcome diverse perspectives."

Too often corporate speak to communicate:

"We're not actually terrible people ourselves. But we're financially compromised and don't care enough to change our behavior."

The time for the annual tell-all is here!

Tomorrow is 9 years since we publicly launched @outseta.com.
Here are my reflections on year 9 of bootstrapping our SaaS start-up, including:

It stopped being about politics long ago.

This is about horrible people, doing horrible things, and the people that enable them.

An article I would like to read from a great UX designer:

An indepth breakdown of when chat based interfaces are preferable and a better solution than point and click software inputs.

I haven't seen much discussion on this topic and it feels quite important.

At the risk of being uninspiring...

You can't *always* sell the dream.

Everyone is so drunk on the power of optimism, that we often forget the power of realism.

Realism builds credibility.

I've found myself needing to send variations of this email w/ increasing frequency.

Non-technical people trying to vibe-code complex digital products is a disaster.

I've seen more catastrophic builds from non-technical vibe-coders than I could have ever dreamt of from no-code.

Online courses often get a bad rap.

But an incredible use case we've seen @outseta.com—art instruction! Examples:

michellearmas.com
adventureofpainting.com
lashleyartclass.com

All insanely talented artists sharing their knowledge.

Life changing for them + pure enjoyment for their students.
